Updating our 404 page

A "404 page" typically appears when someone tries to visit a non-existent web page. The error message 404 is an Internet code that means "the browser doesn't know what web page you are trying to find". For example, if you mistype, and then browse a non-existent page such as www.vcv.org.uk/contcat, you see our 404 page.

We have customised our 404 page to be more useful than just stating the obvious "Sorry, that page does not exist". Our 404 page includes links to almost every one of over 20 pages that are accessible via clicking around our website. Our 404 page also includes a link to the otherGroups page.

You might need to update our 404 page to add some better links to existing webpages, or to add a link to a recently added webpage.

To edit our 404 page:
  1. Login to the website editor.
  2. On the left menu, click "SEO & Settings", then "404 PAGE".

3. Click "Customise page".  You can now edit this page as usual.
